Zutter Box Project

Here is a box I have made using my Zutter. Not just to punch the holes, but I have also used binding wires to attach the lid. Scroll down to see how I made it!

Step 1

The first stage is to cut, punch and colour your card. I have used 4" x 4" board. You will need two pieces punched on all 4 sides ( base & back), three pieces punched on 3 sides ( front and sides) and one piece punched once, for the lid. I have coloured mine using versacolour and the direct to paper method, using a soft cloth to blend the edges of the colours together. The colours I have used are Lime and Raspberry.

Step 2

On what will be the outside of the panels I have sprayed three colours of Glimmer Mists; Honeydew and Meadow Green, and Juneberry Wine. I have tried to keep the colours mainly separate. Then, to get the water mark effect, I use my heat gun to dry the Mists after letting them settle for a couple of minutes. The result is quite lovely!

Step 3

Here I have stamped the inside of the panels with the same Versacolour I used to colour the background.

Final step before assembly.

Step 4.
I have used stamping, but you could decorate the panels anyway you like. The stamps I have used here are from the Dovecraft Designer range

Step 5.
Use ribbon, wire, whatever takes your fancy to thread through the holes and bind the whole box together.
